Fishing

In the months of November, December and January, Silver and King Salmon make their annual trip up the Eel River to spawn. They range from 8 to 40 pounds and are caught with roe, lures or flies. In January, February and March, the Salmon are joined by the annual run of Steelhead which hit the scales from 4 to 18 pounds. Dean Creek has the easiest river access in the region.

Hunting

The area around Dean Creek Resort abounds in deer, wild boar, wild turkey, and other game animals. If you are a hunter, you will find Dean Creek Resort an excellent base camp.
